Our annual gala puts some “fun” in fundraising
Every year, Boheme Opera hosts an annual gala that serves as both a fundraising event and an opportunity for existing and prospective supporters to interact with the company and its leadership in a festive gathering. The event has been held at a number of venues in Central Jersey, including The Boathouse at Mercer County Park, Trenton Country Club, Nottingham Ballroom, Forsgate Country Club and, most recently, Mercer Oaks Catering.
Patrons have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, raffle and wine pull, while enjoying live performances by singers and dancers that relate to the gala’s theme. As they enjoy the entertainment, guests partake of a cocktail reception, with beverages and passed hors d’oeuvres, that is followed by either a served or buffet dinner.
In recent years, our galas have included a new centerpiece segment: a quartet of principal artists from past and upcoming main stage productions, performing sets of selections from opera and Broadway that are interspersed throughout the course of the event.
Samples of recent gala titles and themes include: Rigoletto’s Courtly Jest (Rigoletto), A Night on the Nile (Aida), Lucia’s Castle Wedding (Lucia di Lammermoor), Fantasia de Espana (Carmen) and Violetta’s Masked Ball (La Traviata).
Boheme Opera invites gala sponsorship support from corporations, businesses and individuals, who are recognized for their generosity and partnership in the gala booklet that every guest receives.
